Description:
The subject of the direct award is Hungary approx. XLI of 2012 on passenger transport services on its 440 km long open access railway line network. exclusive provision of public service railway passenger transport according to law. Affected lines: 1d, 8, 9, 15, 16, 17 (between Szombathely-Zalaszentivan)., 18., 20 (between Szombathely-Porpac)., 21., 22.
The public rail passenger transport services cover:
-a distance of at least 100 km, between the cities with county status and/or it is possible to get between the capital city and the relevant cities under county lawto national services that ensure safety, of which flights that ensure adequate comfort and fast travel can be used at a surcharge,
-within the borders of the relevant counties or, in the case of crossing the county borders, for suburban domestic passenger transport services that do not exceed 100 km,
-in addition to thefor passenger transport services between the capital city and/or the cities with county status and their defined catchment areas.
The average number of trains running in public service daily on the railway network involved in the direct award is 264. Performance of train transport annual noapprox. 5.3 million train kilometers. The national services include InterCity, Expressz, which can be used by passengers for a special surcharge, and the domestic EuroCity and EuroNight trains.
