Description:
The subject of this purchase is the acquisition of the latest Domino/Notes licenses required for system renewal. For more than 3 decades now, HCL has been operating an IT infrastructure based on Domino/Notes software to handle the complex activities of the water organizations (OVF and the 12 regional water directorates). This software - like many other software - is characterized by continuous development and changes, the results of which appear in software updates. The former manufacturer and owner of the software - which is currently HCL Technologies Limited - did so from the beginning by purchasing the software update enable users to access the most current version at any time; these typically mean 1-year cycles (so users usually buy software support for a 1-year period, after which another 1 year can be purchased and so on until they want to use it). THE the use of software monitoring by water organizations during the several decades of operation was characterized by the fact that they did not take advantage of the possibility of continuous (annual) updates. Updates were purchased only when a relevant change occurred in the development of the software (e.g. standards, certifications), which was essential due to safe and efficient operation, and in parallel, when material and other resources were also available.
